Jim Crocker 14th Generation Cape Codder

We need new leadership on Beacon Hill to make the structural changes that will revive our Cape Cod and Islands economy and restore our faith in state government.

The tough economy in Massachusetts has forced families across Cape Cod to trim their budgets to make ends meet – Beacon Hill should do the same rather than raise taxes.

I am running for the State Senate to take on the tough challenges of cutting government spending, lowering our tax burden and reviving our economy.

I am not seeking office so that I can build a political resume, I have one. I am not seeking this office so I can leave and move to a private sector job, I have one.

My family is deeply rooted in this District. I am 14th generation Cape Codder. The Crocker family has grown here, lived he, and worked here, raising new generations of Cape Codders.

I am a taxpayer, business owner, community leader and concerned citizen. My involvement includes being an elected member of the Barnstable Town Council, Osterville Village Association director, Advisory Committee member of the Osterville Historic Museum, founding father of Barnstable Silver Bullets Youth Football program, and sponsor of Cape Cod Waves female youth hockey program. Professionally, I own my small real estate firm and I am the 2010 President-Elect of the Cape and Islands Association of Realtors.

Most importantly, I am a devoted husband and father.

I believe my background and experience in the private sector and as a Barnstable Town Councilor have well prepared me to help solve the serious problems we are facing our state.

Now is the time to look to the future and plan wisely.

The steps taken now on issues such as government spending, taxes, public safety, health care, and education will affect future generations.

I will make you this promise: As your next State Senator, I will work without fail to restore courage to the political process so that we can finally make the necessary changes needed to control spending and end the political gamesmanship on Beacon Hill.

Why is courage so important?

Leaders need courage to make the hard choices, even unpopular choices, for the long term good of the state.

The next two years will not be easy. The problems we are facing are immense, and they will require a Senator who is prepared to make the hard choices. By working together we can make a positive difference.

Your support and vote would be truly appreciated.
